New Delhi: A day after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said that those involved in lynchings over cows were against Hindutva, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi hit back saying that the hatred shown by those who had targeted Muslims in the name of cow protection was the product of Hindutva.In his address at an event ‘Hindustan First Hindustani Best’ organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch in Ghaziabad on July 4, Bhagwat said, “Cow is a holy animal, but those involved in lynching are against Hindutva,” he had said.Bhagwat had also said that though at times, some “false cases” of lynching have been registered against some people.Owaisi posted three Hindi tweets saying those criminals who carried out lynching may not know the difference between a cow and a buffalo but knew enough to kill those with names like Junaid, Akhlaq, Pehlu, Rakbar, and Alimuddin.“This hatred is the product of Hindutva and these criminals have the patronage of a government backing Hindutva,” Owaisi said.“Alimuddin’s killers are garlanded by a Union minister, the tricolour is placed over the body of Akhlaq’s killer, a mahapanchayat is convened in support of those who killed Asif, where a BJP spokesperson asks “Can we not even murder?” the president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) wrote.केंद्रीय मंत्री के हाथों अलीमुद्दीन के कातिलों की गुलपोशी हो जाती है, अखलाक़ के हत्यारे की लाश पर तिरंगा लगाया जाता है, आसिफ़ को मारने वालों के समर्थन में महापंचायत बुलाई जाती है, जहाँ भाजपा का प्रवक्ता पूछता है कि “क्या हम मर्डर भी नहीं कर सकते?” 2/3— Asaduddin Owaisi (@asadowaisi) July 5, 2021In 2018, Union Minister Jayant Sinha had been photographed felicitating the men convicted for brutally lynching Alimuddin Ansari in Ramgarh.In violation of the Flag Code of India, 2002, the body of Ravin Sisodia, one of the accused in the Dadri lynching case, was wrapped in the tricolour.This year, despite the COVID-19 lockdown in the state, mahapanchayats were held in several Haryana villages in support of those arrested for lynching a Muslim man, Asif Khan.“Cowardice, violence and murder are an integral part of Godse’s Hindutva thinking.
